The Wild Party is based on Joseph Moncure March's 1928 poem. "Queenie is an ambitious, manipulative Vaudeville dancer. Burrs is her rough boyfriend. They fight, they bicker. They go to a party and neither wants to check their problems at the door. Queenie flirts with her friend's date, a man named Black, hoping to make Burrs angry. She succeeds."
